About MIND UofT

An interdisciplinary community for the science of the mind.

MIND UofT is an interdisciplinary student community connecting students with the research, researchers, and conversations shaping our understanding of neurodegenerative disease and brain health.

Why MIND Exists
Full Name
Memory, Insight & Neurodegenerative Disorders Student Association
Short Name
MIND UofT
Institution
University of Toronto

Neurodegenerative diseases cannot be understood through a single discipline.

Understanding them requires researchers, clinicians, neuroscientists, molecular biologists, engineers, computational scientists, psychologists, caregivers, and patients to communicate with one another.

Our goal is to help students enter that conversation.

Who We Bring Together

Students across every discipline that touches the brain.

MIND is interdisciplinary by design — we welcome students who see neurodegeneration through very different lenses.

  • Neuroscience
  • Molecular Biology
  • Genetics
  • Biochemistry
  • Psychology & Cognition
  • Clinical Medicine
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Computational Biology
  • Therapeutics
  • Aging & Brain Health
  • Translational Research
Areas of Interest

Conditions at the center of our conversation.

MIND UofT is particularly interested in neurodegenerative and age-related conditions such as:

Alzheimer's disease
Parkinson's disease
Huntington's disease
ALS
Dementia
Other neurological & age-related disorders
How We Focus Our Work

Five areas that guide what MIND builds.

01

Research

Creating access points into the questions researchers are asking about neurodegenerative disease.

02

Education

Building scientific literacy through journal clubs, talks, and structured discussion.

03

Connection

Bringing students into direct conversation with faculty, clinicians, and graduate researchers.

04

Community

Gathering students from every discipline who share a curiosity about the brain.

05

Exploration

Mapping the many pathways into neuroscience, medicine, and biotechnology careers.

Join the Conversation

MIND is open to students from every discipline.

You don't need lab experience or a neuroscience major — just curiosity about the brain.
